The wine and ale were there, just like they'd been ten minutes ago. Lavender...

Lavender tucked her book under her arm and stood, brushing crumbs off of her skirt and stretching. It was a lovely day, too lovely to be cooped up inside her flat, so she'd shrunk an easel and some canvases and tucked them into her bag as she headed out the door. She'd spent hours in the park, not really painting anything, but looking at everything. She'd spent the rest of the morning meandering...

... so I soon stop running. Still, it felt good for a little while and we felt energised (and, in The Boy's case, slightly asthmatic). On the way home I picked some freesias and added them to a bunch of lavender to make a nice bouquet. I'm drying some lavender for a special batch of cupcakes I have planned too. Wish our roses looked better but I have neglected them and so they are looking suitably sad...

Harvest is going well. I'm afraid I planted the cucumbers too close to another magical specimen, though, as they are glowing faintly. I wonder if they are safe to eat? [more dirt-smudged notes on plants...reading others' intentions. I had to be. But that fails me when I become personally involved. I suppose that's why there were rules against it as an Auror. At this point it might be best just to ask

As Neville waited for Lavender, he watched the people around him. Diagon Alley was fairly crowded, with lots of students and parents wandering about, looking for the things they'd need. Several harried-looking mothers and fathers had passed him by before he spotted his old friend. Straightening up, he waved. Lavender smiled and hurried over. "Hullo, Nev. ... Things seemed good before. Now... I know Harry will fight. Justin too. Seems like Draco might as well. He says he's just supporting, but I like to think I know him now. He's not a behind the scenes sort of bloke. He'll come out hexing. It would kill Blaise if anything happened to Draco. I worry for Lavender. I was angry with her, but soemthign bad has happened. Someone got killed. I am afraid.

"I can do this. I can do this." The mantra was repeated under her breath, over and over. Yes, the last time she'd seen the blond baker, she'd been yelling at her, but Lavender would like to think that the reason she'd been angry had been resolved. Justin had been staying with her every night, when he could. He wasn't ignoring work, but every extra minute he had was spent with her. She hadn't wanted...

I would hope advertising is okay. We just got a lot of new books in. Some aren't in the best of condition, but I'm certain there's a book for everybody.
