Oh! I just realised that this little self-improvement project reaches its expiration date in two days. I started on Saturday 28th January, 2006. 1001 days seemed like ages when I started this, but it’s...out. 99. Decide what religious/spiritual beliefs I actually hold. 100. Keep in touch with old friends. 101. Lie convincingly. All of this is to be accomplished by... Saturday, 25 October 2008
It's been a while since I've written. Since that time, I turned down the newspaper position (though I'll continue to write stories for sports when needed, I'm really hoping to move to the features desk...the insurmountable, and I did it right here in New Haven. I have petted a llama. There's even this sort of glow on my hair, do you see? No, that's not sunshine. It's a halo of victory.

This live journal is more of a journal for just me. I doubt that anyone reads here and if they do...great. I have been in Northern California for almost 5 months now. I like it here and everything was...a month ago) I have read Jen's LJ and am really interested in the 101 things in 1001 days. I am going to finish my list (in the near future) and get started. I will also be tracking my progress here
So I started this list yesterday, meaning that my 1001 day is June 26, 2011. More information can be found here: http://triplux.com/dayzero/default.asp 1. Apply to College 2. Become fluent in German...96. Figure out which college I want to go to 97. Find a design for my tattoo 98. Wear funkier jewelry 99. Donate more to charity 100. Go to NYC on my birthday ((+John Lennon's)) 101. Make a new list
I forgot to post this a few days ago...who knows if I will actually succeed but it's worth the try. Some task ideas I got from others on my flist + the internet, others simply my head. The Mission: ...my binders/etc. 099) Write 10 LJ entries without using the word "anyways" even once. (0/10) 100) Figure out what I want out of life. 101) Give away $5 to charity for each goal I do not accomplish
So I did it. I read 50 new books for the year of 2008. This opens up a whole new arena of questions, such as: do I get to count the rest of the books I read this year toward next year's tally? 'Cause...read ALL of the books on that list. < /subliminal messaging > That was fun... and what's even better is that I still haven't run out of things I want to read. I somehow doubt that's even possible..
Bold means I'm doing it, and *DONE* means I did it since this update and the last; just strike means it was done prior to that. I reduced and changed a few goals, too. Most of the accomplishments... assaultdoor get a full-time job that he likes. Well, this is good for a year, and then we have to work on it again! That's 10 things since this list was officially started on January 7th. :
It's always hard to decide if I'm ready for summer to be over or not. I always miss my family when I go back to New Haven... but on the other hand, I vastly, vastly prefer classes to a full-time job...van floor, clutching onto the bikes to keep them from falling out the open trunk. I'm so tired... I think I need to try and get a little more sleep... ...and no one's ever heard me say that before
A young and idealistic recent graduate teacher arrives at a school with a reputation for gang violence. The staff are jaded, and the community is at war with each other. In taking the freshman English...is powerful. It shows that students can be empowered and inspired by a simple act and a teacher who is willing to give a damn where most would just ride out the time until the majority dropped out
