If you've seen the other Saw films, you've seen this one. The only reason I went was because I've seen the others & I guess I wanted to keep up the tradition. It wasn't anything special. Not scary, just gross.
1. Read the book . 2. See the movie. Often movie adaptations of books aren't that spectacular (my most recent disappointment was last year's The Night Listener & I don't really want to see Blindness...may first have been a singer, but her calling is an actress. The woman amazes me. Dakota Fanning seems all grown up, but was still her great self, as was the rest of the cast. Very much worth seeing
This film was cute. Of course, Michael Cera usually is. :) Kat Dennings is good. Loved the music enough to go buy the soundtrack afterwards. I thought the film was much better than the book. The...N&N's relationship much more sweet than the book. I felt the book relationship had a skankiness to it. I almost didn't see the film because I didn't really like the book, but now I'm glad I did
wall-E is the best Pixar film to date. While I love Finding Nemo and Toy Story and A Bug's Life and The Incredibles , their latest film is revolutionary. The first half of the film is basically...are there to be noticed, if you care to. But at the heart of the film is the story of a little robot and how he adapts to the world changing around him - and that's what makes it really special.
♥Brad Pitt♥ This movie should have been called "Burn After Watching". It was terrible. It was not funny. I ♥ Brad Pitt, but even trying to be unbiased, he was seriously the only good part about this film. But, he was only in about the first hour. Frances McDormand was good, too. George Clooney isn't even likable. Not good. Don't watch it. Don't rent it.
Writer and director John August has been blogging about The Nines ever since he finished shooting it - way back in June of 2006 . He's discussed every aspect of making it. Discussed his cast and crew...might be a short versus feature length requirement - but I came out much more impressed by the 10 minute God than the 100 minute The Nines . The DVD is worth hiring for the short film alone.
On December 8, 1980, Mark David Chapman shot John Lennon to death while clutching an autographed copy of Lennon's final album, "Double Fantasy" and a copy of the book The Catcher in the Rye . Chapter...Jude (sigh) and the "Hey, Jude" joke is done twice (vomit). It's hard to say if this material could lend itself to a good film, but it most certainly could have been made into a better film than this.
In a world where Scary Movie , Date Movie and Epic Movie are considered funny... In a world where movie audiences know more and more about film production... In a world where Robert Downey Jnr can... Tropic Thunder has started. Well, not Tropic Thunder - but the making of Tropic Thunder . Which in the film is called Tropic Blunder . Get it? Oh, also? Downey Jnr's Australian accent is superb!
Robert Downey, Jr. is really good - to the point of forgetting that it's him. And Tom Cruise? Hate on him all you want, but he was funny! The rest of the cast was good, but not typical LOL funny. Though... Really, now, would anyone actually drink something called "Booty Sweat"?! This was much better than Pineapple Express ; however, I'm not sure I'd recommend dropping $7-$10 on it. Rental, though? Yes
Yes, I, like what seems the rest of the country, have now seen The Dark Knight . I won't lie, I'm not much of a Batman fan. I've seen all of the films, but they've not overjoyed me (esp. Batman Begins...was very creepy. And he continually licked his lips will he talked & that disturbed me. It does make me wonder, though, would his role & this film be so hyped had he not died. Very worth seeing
