...- my players weren't playing the game, they were playing the rules. Just nudging the power level, little by little, toward the rampant god game they wanted. So I put an end to it. They don't need a gamemaster to play THAT game. Not that it's a bad game; both Amber Diceless and New Gods of Mankind manage it. But it isn't the game that works well in DnD, especially not at lower level campaigns.
