I mean really miss it.  I want to go to a lecture again, flip through the pages of a newly bought coursebook, feel the weight of my computerbag on my shoulder, hear Anders (my lecturers') self-contradictory and ever-fascinating statements, see the semi-ugly, shitty-expensive Danish designerlamps blocking the view from the magnificent skylight and feel like I belong...

"It was common knowledge that my marriage was merely one of convenience -- but when aren't they?" Sometimes at night, lying on her bunk in the Demetrius , Kara thinks about Anders. Not why she's sleeping with him, she knows why she's doing that--it's not a mystery, not with all the tension and the recriminating looks and the barely-concealed skepticism that surrounds her--a girl's gotta work off...

... and then stops at the edge of the kitchen. "Don't kill each other, okay?" I think I need you both. "Of course not," Leoben says, turning back to whatever he's doing with dinner. "I don't think Anders would be very good in this, anyway." Sam snorts at that. "Cylon-and-rice doesn't sound good to me, either," he says, and kisses Kara's forehead. Kara leaves them in the kitchen and goes outside...

...in sweat, but her mind was still wound up as tight as ever. She wasn't going to find relief from exercising, and while the thought of a few drinks was tempting, she knew she had to talk to him. Sam. Anders. Her husband. The Cylon. "Frak me ," she shouted, hitting the bag again, all rage and absolutely no technique. She stood, panting, her hands fisted at her sides, wondering what in the name of...

Phoebe always hated this part. The saying goodbye to her children that came to her from different universes. Pala tried to smile and hugged her mom. "It'll all be okay, mom," she said softly. "I ahve...holding hands as they smiled at their parents. "Silly Mommy and Daddies. We'll be back," they patted Phoebe's stomach to reassure them.
