today mother and i visited fredericksburg, where she grew up. we spent the afternoon antiquing. we kept finding things that were similar to the things we have that were my grandmothers in every shop ...place. just think about all the stuff sitting on shelves in antique shops across the country. after today, i don't think i'm going to buy new anything, except underwear , for the rest of my life
...and Baskin Robbins for ice cream, where I ate way too much. then, even though i only planned to stay for a little while, i went back to my grandparents house. i confessed to memaw about my love for antiques and tiny things, and lo and behold we spent almost 3 hours going through different rooms in her house looking at things that i have grown up around my entire life but never payed attention too...
... AND. SHOPPING. OH YES! First of all, we went to Cold Spring Village, one of those old fashioned villages. We were there on antique day, which meant that there were cars everywhere, and also, antiques (surprise!). I found a typewriter. Let it be understood that I have wanted one for a long time. And this one had just gone on 50% discount because they were closing up. So I bought this near-15...
Today at work we had antiques, which was ok. It wasn't good and wasn't bad. But at least it was different. And I got more stuff out of the WOW dispensers--Zaizen now has two more rings and a necklace. Too bad it's just a chain. Adventureland is retarded. But this is the stuff I got yesterday!! Today I took a trip to the Renninger's Antique mall about an hour away. I found two delightful Victorian accessories! I think this is 1890's due to it's large size. Black silk ribbon decor on left most... Next we have a stylish shoulder cape or mantle with magenta silk lining. I think this might also be 1890's because it can easily accommodate the large sleeves under it's circular shape.

Well I went to the antiques roadshow, and I took Cecilie with me. She's a bit of a clothes horse and kept reminding me all week to "dress up" just in case we got on TV. Well I did dress up, but I didn't get on TV. And I had sore feet for 2 days afterwards...
