We made great strides this past week in acquiring appliances: in just the past few days, I've selected and purchased a stove, washer, dryer, trash compactor, and a dishwasher, and all should be arriving within the next 1-3 weeks.  The refrigerator is already in the garage waiting, so at this point, that just leaves much smaller stuff to pick up, such as a garbage disposal, kitchen and mudroom faucets...

Here is our trusty, ancient, former microwave. It wasn't pretty, as you can see. It was bulky. It had no light to shine on the food it was heating. We often got made fun of for its obselescence, it... buttons , as I reach for the Timer dial.
