It's a small ceremony. There are few people invited. With his wife's help, Dick managed to get a license to perform marriages. Roy and Duela are the witnesses and the attendants. Cerdian is the ringbearer..... even serene. He stands at the front of the room, before bay windows looking out on the water, dressed formally. And he watches the front of the hall, waiting for Tula to enter, smiling broadly
"Honey, I'm home!" Tula chirps, poking her head into the library. It's easy to tell from the smile on her face and the bounce in her step that her day at the zoo with Cerdian had gone well. Cerdian's already been by and gone to find Lian, so now it's time to tell Garth the good news and then thoroughly distract him from whatever he's found to do while they were out.
Cerdian is a very quiet child. When Tula came to him and invited him to the zoo, he agreed, but he's said very little as the two of them set out for the Philadelphia zoo. He's been extremely polite, answering any questions, but he hasn't exactly been a chatterbox, either. He stands by her side as they wait in line to buy tickets.
Garth's eyes open. He's sore... and far more tired than he should be. This wasn't how he was dressed when he lay down for his nap. And is... that... glitter? Then he notices the time on the clock. He lay down 11 hours ago. He sits up abruptly. "Tula?!" Something happened... he's missing some time. Did she vanish again?
"I think an evening out would be good for you," Tula argues. "You are beyond stressed. A little music, a little dancing; it'll give you a chanceto relax and it might even shake some ideas loose." She's... and he's reading all the time . She's pretty sure he'd forget to eat if she didn't nag remind him to. If she doesn't reintroduce him to that wacky thing called "fun", one of them is going to go crazy
The room is dark. Hands move slowly. Grasping. Fumbling. Breathing becomes labored. It has been some time since anyone shared his bed... months even before Dolphin vanished. And Tula has always known...no one else in the room. Not really. But he refuses to let the emptiness show outwardly. He doesn't want to ruin the moment. He lets out a quiet, intimate chuckle. "That was... a bit different.
He’s not sure how long he’s been here: possibly several days by now. There have been several torture sessions, and Tula is always there. She is, after all, the only one there with the strength to hurt...things that don't make sense about any of this. But at least some of the pieces are coming together. Another rake of Tula's sharp fingernails across his chest, drawing more blood. He doesn't cry out
Garthsits, staring into space. He doesn't know how long they kept him sedated, but he knows that they've blocked his magical powers. He hasn't seen anyone else, save the occasional HIVE agent, and they've...the HIVE agents spits at him, even as they shove Duela into the cell and activate the energy wall. The agents head back down the hall, leaving Garth with his old teammate, although in separate cells
