Yesterday was an incredibly busy day as I had the first of the teaching training sessions. It really is an all day thing. By the time I got home I was absolutely shattered. It's not physical activity,...probably won't stay empty for long *lol* Tomorrow, I'm teaching in the afternoon, so I'll do my usual quick zip around in the morning and then go off to do that. Friday I'm expecting to have at home
I got very little sleep last night so I think that there will be a definite catch up nap this afternoon. Rain and high winds last night. I hope that the new wood is still covered and that I don’t have...stm Audio Slideshow: Volcanic city remembered http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/europe/7696090.stm Change the world one loan at a time - visit http://www.Kiva.org to find out ho
OK, maybe not for real, but I LOVED THIS BOOK! Archaeologist Jack Howard is a brave but cautious man. When he embarked on a new search for buried treasure in the Mediterranean, he knew it was a long shot... If you get the chance to read these, please do. And also, if you get the chance to read MY archaeological stories, please do that also. I think you'll enjoy them. They seem to get better. . .
Yesterday was a productive day. After a quick zip around Bardic Web in the morning, I then spent several hours sorting out vegetables with Dad. He and Mum had brought a load back from a farm shop, so we...to it or not. On the one hand, it sounds interesting and may be useful. On the other, it's a big time commitment, and one that isn't exactly through my choosing. I have to do it though, so that's that
...As Jar Jar Binks would say. My first 10-day cycle of archaeological goodness has come to an end and I am now home for a few days until cycle 2 starts up on Wednesday. I slept almost 12 hours last...object. Respect me, don't serve me. And, your wallet does not impress me, neither by its size, nor what you can do with it, cuz' I've got one, too, and I know how to use it as well as you do.
...no chance of ever getting a job with Microsoft and b) it would mean moving to Dublin. I'm not saying Dublin isn't a nice place to live, I've never been there so I couldn't comment, but one of the main reasons I'm trying to find a new job is because I want to be closer to home.
Of course what I still really want to do is jack it all in and study archaeology, but there you go. Pipe dreams.
You may have noticed that my new delicious has been keeping links out of my journal for the past few weeks. I'm in the process of organizing all my old bookmarks in there. But in the meantime, here's...garish) pairs of clip-ons, though. Not tagging anyone! Or tagging everyone. Take your pick. ... I have GOT to get me some LoM icons. (One of these days I should upload more icons to IJ, too.)
I've reached that stage in both my life and unemployment (which will have to end soon, whether I remotely like the resulting job or not) where I've started reading archaeology textbooks for fun . It's not so bad at the moment; a few articles on Anglo-Scandinavian sculpture, but then I fully intending to follow that with a 65 page chapter of disease in Medieval Europe. And there's a chapter on Neolithic...
I managed to finish the animal bone recording the other day, so I've spent today being productive in other areas. I've messed with statistics for one article (I hate stats by the way, always have), went...as a wav file. This resulted in a moment of 'erm... where did we put it?' It was eventually tracked down on the top shelf of a wardrobe. Don't ask me what it was doing there because I have no idea
...hear them so I could respond to various professors. It's been a couple years since I last applied to grad school, so I'd forgotten what they were completely, and I'd like to know from people more experienced than I: Just how bad is a score of 1100 [v520, q580, a5]? For perspective, I'm applying to schools like University of Florida and Arizona State. Edit: Anthropology/archaeology MA/PhD program
