Allow me to take on Grandpa Burning Man characteristics for one moment to say: Yeah, there were eight-hour blocks of strong wind on the Playa both Monday and (damn it) Saturday, kicking up dust so thick... could easily be frightened by them... Damn kids, get off my Playa! You're ruining my dry lakebed! Don't make me get out of this ergonomic rocking chair and take my sacred medicine stick to yer hide
I keep freaking myself out by repeatedly and compulsively checking the National Hurricane Center website for storm predictions and tracking. Christ. Not only am I watching the progress of various named... I see all those colored circles of potential activity coming across from Africa and I fret a little more. What if another storm hits us? But really, the question is, What if my cruise gets canceled
Just as we’re shaking off the recent brush with Fay, now we’ve got a much bigger problem to worry about. Gustav. I’m hoping this one will be like that other big Russian dude, Ivan, who raised...Mexico to Florida, my heart goes out to you. Later, gators, Louie * The Sound of Building Coffins will be released by The Toby Press in March 2009.
i hatethe rain. And it doesn't help that it has been raining non stop for the past few days. The weather is getting on my nerves. It was a rather thought provoking day. Talked about politics, about...plans were cancelled. :( GRRRR... shall find sth else to do. SIGH Last words: Why is it a waste just because we fail to become what people expect us to be? Shouldn't we just be ourselves?
So it rained for something like 36 hours non-stop this weekend. I felt really stir-crazy for some reason. I mean, I normally do nothing on the weekends but knit and watch movies and read anyway, but knowing... I would like to use my stockpot, but it's currently serving as a drip bucket. Thank God, the leak in my bedroom happened 4 inches to the left of my bed, because my bed is too heavy for me to move!
[Alphonse is sick :C. He's in his room snuggled in a blanket with a pillow on his lap and a flashlight, not to mention the small gray kitten that settled on his shoulder. Come to find out there are about...anyone want a kitten ? [Sneeze, tissue, repeat.] ((ooc: Al is keeping one so there are five available if your character wants one ^w^ EDIT: No kittensleft. Sorry they went pretty fast.>.>))
I have writer's block. I am trying to write out the first chapter of Lisa and my Harry Potter fanfic. Somehow, the thoughts are not flowing. Maybe i'm not relaxing and thinking too hard. Yes, I think that's...happy for that. It would be cool if we went into Manhattan but then again, it is expensive. So what I want to do is either go shopping at Sheeps Bay or maybe play pool. I know I want to do something fun
[Lucrecia is totally happy, happier than she was the day before. Why? Simple. Tall, dark, and handsome. :| Despite the weather being not so good, she's sitting at her window watching the weather, as if...of her mood. She's even humming lightly to herself, idly looping a strand of hair around her finger. Accidental second level? You know it. She's too happy to care though, if anyone else sees it.]
Ok yes. I am naming this after the opening line of "Thank You" by The Whitlams. But it is completely true. I really shouldn't have driven yesterday. The day I HAD to drive was the day that Canberra...the weather deteroirated between 6pm-10:30pm last night. Yeah... I shouldn't have driven. I am NOT driving in those weather conditions ever again any time soon. If anything, it made me worse. *sigh
