...I'd used to keep my French up all these years. And Ch. 21 WLIW isn't broadcasting at sufficient strength any more for digital TV reception. GOOD NEWS: I've been invited to appear on programming for Balticon next year! And I've just filled out the on-line form for Philcon programming! BAD NEWS: Still no word on Ben ( notnormal23224 ). GOOD NEWS: I've figured out how to make mini-cheeseburgers...
Well, as some of y'all have already seen, we have in fact invited the lovely and talented quadrivium to be our Music GOH for Balticon 43. Mary joins Author GOH Charles Stross and last year's Compton Crook Award winner Mark Van Name on the main bill, with a few players still yet to be named (like the Artist GOH). At the moment the Balticon web site still has last year's information, but...
2009 Balticon GoH: Charles Stross . Added to the to-do list: reservations at the Hunt Valley and a Balticon membership. I haven't been this excited about a GoH since the year I found out David Drake was going to be at Arcana.
The multi-talented jlawrenceperry has a new installment of his podcast The Adventures of Indiana Jim , which contains the interview he did with me at Balticon. It's a perfect reflection of my mental state on Sunday night at a con--my first word is "Um" and to me, at least, I sound like an earnest squirrel, which is my normal reaction to hearing a recording of my voice. Other than that, I'm...

There was one bad thing that happened; my husband fell on his face in the con suite, trying to navigate his way around the old Studebaker they keep at the back of that room. He looked terrible the next day—just as if...
...come! I also found some cool free Greek coloring pages that I can print out to give away to kids at events for my goodie bags. And something else to add to my launch raffle basket. Is this awesome or what? There's an Egyptian one too, for when Ankh comes into paperback. Which SHOULD be right around the time of Balticon , which I'm trying to squirm my way into being invited to next year.
... Yeah, it was hot. But I just stayed still in the tent and drank plenty of water and lived to fight another day. I couldn't have done it if I were in the sun all day. Next year I think I'm going to Balticon instead. Though, since they moved the Festival back to May next year, it might not be too bad to go and stay on site in the bunkhouse and do the 'adults-only' festival. Am I glad I didnt' do that...
