Still in Flint. Still working 4 days a week. Class 2x week. Not sure when I'm moving. Hopefully soon. I'm going insane feeling so unsettled. ---- Umm I just wandered off and cleaned up my room for a...and relaxing. I need to rework my list of universities I want to apply to, or rather actually make a spreadsheet of them, listing pros and cons. ---- but for now, I need to go and visit my grandparents
Well, I had an interesting week. A week ago Thursday an eighth grader and I found a live bat flopping around on the sidewalk outside my classroom. It appeared to be injured - one wing seemed fine, but... Wish me luck getting my shots moved! p.s. To top it all off, I missed my cousin Robert's wedding ceremony while I was at the ER getting shots, but we made it to the reception in time for dinner.
...in South America come out in vast numbers - upwards of 2 million in a single flock I believe, and each evening at dusk as the swarm emerges, various forms of predatory bird come out to snack on the bats. The bats form these huge cyclonic swarms that make it almost impossible to track them as individuals - which means that for any individual bat the chances of being singled out and devoured are pretty...
From my friend tara's MySpace. Tara is the traffic voice for a number of mainstream stations 'round here and so has to look at all the DOT cams during drivetimes. A couple of days ago, she found this:...between Salt Lake and Park City..... There was a sudden flurry of wings and the cats were gone, replaced with bats. No sooner were the bats circling above my head did they burst into flame - fire is another common element (no pun intended) in my dreams. The fire dropped to the ground and formed dogs. Oh, look...
...breaking the rules. I am apparently not alone in some of my thinking, but I won't get into the details as the email wasn't meant for the masses. Though I doubt anyone but me will ever read this blog, one never knows. All is relatively quiet here on the home front. Not too many bats in the belfry, only that blasted agent of the adversary pissing in the back garden. Oh well. Keeps me on my toes.
