So we spent most of Labor Day weekend doing stuff with the hiking people since most of our other friends were at Dagron-con. Saturday, we went hiking at Cloudland Canyon . ...had Labor day off, so I took advantage of the beautiful cloudless sky to sit out and do some drawings while also trying to regain my natural color.  Also took the opportunity to cook up some bbq in the backyard.  Grilled up some chicken thighs (with a honey terriyaki sauce), sweet Italian sausages, roasted up some ears of corn, and even made homemade shis ka bobs.  All in all a very relaxing...

...lasted well into the next morning. As of now it's narrowed down to two boxes, and the one that is yet to be done has less than fifty CDs in it. I feel very accomplished by this. As the time for the BBQ quickly approached, I started feeling a little down. I wanted to be happy, but with the topsy-turvyness of the weekend, and the lack of actually having a full-time job really weighed me down. After...

The 1st annual SX Labor Day weekend BBQ went well. Sort of a long munch with hot tub and whips. It was a LONG weekend... i had to work Saturday and had several lovely friends come into the shop, including someone that i have wanted to get around to at least *dinner* with for close to a year. ...feel the awesome pain. it's been a good long weekend. some resting, some socializing, some tv and movie watching. been sleeping in every morning since saturday. all around very restful. i am stoked for sigur ros and james in montreal in a few weeks, and i'm going to buy the tickets to okkervil river this week (that will make for a fun thanksgiving weekend in montreal). i'm off to a bbq now...

yes!! thanks all of you who came out and made it an awesome time!!!!   it was delicious and tons of fun, and eric was right, it turned up being SEXY!! (thank you poet!!)  soooo we are probably gonna have one again in a month or so, sooo keep a lookout and bring your best BBQ stuffs!!  

The only downside of hosting a function is that you have to clean. So far it's not so bad - though I've got a pile of laundry to fold, a bathroom to scrub, and a crystal castle to find a home for.
