...so. I crashed and burned at the eighteen hour mark, completely losing my 'thon, and completely forgetting to put up ninth_wonders ? ...I'm just gonna go hide under my bed.
The Cruelest Months by gehayi - This one's on the Black family, and it stabs me in the hard with each read. All the pieces are set in the seventies and the eighties, so they're all Andromeda...at her mother-in-law, listening with such intense concentration as Ted tries to make light of the accursed, never-ending war. And Andromeda reads the same unspoken wish in in the other woman's eyes.
"Drive" rec! Saith the Lord by jedibuttercup - This fic is an "Angel"/"Drive" crossover, with a lot more "Angel" stuff in it than "Drive," but it ties the two canons together so nicely (and...supernatural strength or the ability to warp the fabric of space-time to a rehabilitated racer and wheelman turned gardener? Together they tend the song of the green, and she discovers the meaning of joy.
Novelty by MaryLane - This is a sad, sweet, tender and funny fic about Ten and Rose adjusting to his regeneration. It starts off hilarious and ends with a gentle tug on your heartstrings. Jossed in places...related travails of the poor heroic Doctor and his horrid spectacle-hating companion. For a 900-something year old alien, his capacity for grudges is remarkably like that of a seven-year-old.
A Life More Ordinary by zauberer_sirin - This fic is a sad and sweet fill-in-the-gaps story, speculating on the life Martha and the Doctor might've had in 1969 during "Blink." It alternates...to her with the typewriter. She doesn’t ask why. She can feel him getting restless, more and more each day. Martha knows the Doctor well enough to know that “restlessness” in him means “hurting”.
Twenty-Five Occasions People Have Celebrated In The Jossverse by minnow1212 - Ohhhh, this fic. This fic is like a small miracle in itself! It's literally twenty-five fics in one, several tiny... And that's the last of my "Buffy" recs. After this, it gets a bit spotty...like I said, I had never finished this list, so a lot of my fandoms have way fewer than ten fics. So bear with me
Crap, I spaced and forgot to post ten minutes ago! ::headdesk:: Once In A Lullaby by doyle_sb4 - Ths fic totally gives me the shivers. Interestingly, I read it before I saw "Normal Again,"...finally beginning to outgrow, she would try to cling on to them. For most of the past seven years, they've been her backup, her supporting characters. Sometimes she's felt like they're all she has.
I'm going to use this post to tell you guys that I might be a little late for my next post, because I need a shower. Entertain yourselves in my comments while I'm gone.
The Thin Blue Line by doyle_sb4 - This one's a tender comedy, with some small shades of angst and a lot of sweetness. I like Xander and Anya's characterization here, it's practically perfect...she was pregnant, with or without him. Currently it was with him, because she was scared and didn't want to take the test by herself, but in principle she was the poster girl for independence.
