For Burning Man, you have to bring a lot of things for your head. Hat, headlamp, goggles, and dust mask (the latter two are for dust-storms). When all of them are on, I look pretty hilarious. Tonight we are going to make coleslaw and egg salad sandwiches on rye. We went to a Jewish-ish deli the other day and now I'm craving that kind of food lots.
Adam found his calendar of (planned) events for Burning Man from last year, and it is amazing . I could not make shit this good up. Here's a sampling. I'm typing these verbatim from the calendar. Keep...for our How to Make Lock Picks class. Project Runway Toilet Paper Couture Compete in a PR style competition with a 'budget' and 'art direction' just like the show! Today is "No Spectators Day" - a Burning Man inspired day for community involvement and art. BM.org even managed to get the day officially recognized by Mayoral Proclamationin San Francisco, and there... But without a known address or an ability to get in early for setup, our planned interactivity will be significantly curtailed. This is a harsh message to get on "no spectators day"... *grrrr

And we cleaned the house as best we could, and Lianne came home on Friday after six weeks in Sault. Ste. Marie
Speaking of costumes, one of the main reasons I'd love to go to Comicon one day is the costumes. Some of these are just plainawesome. My friend Buttery is moving away next week, so we threw a last...a wedding to go to in Cleveland and we need to visit Graham's mom in Wisconsin. It's possible that I'll decide at the last second to go, but I have supreme doubts that I'd be able to pull that off
Now that I've got my ticket, it's time to plan my trip to Burning Man. This will be my 6th trip to the playa. It's a big jump to get there from the Midwest. Going to Burning Man became a lot more exciting...there it will be just a few hours drive north to BRC Monday morning. I'll save the journey through southern Arizona for the return trip. As usual, all this is subject to change at the last minute
What can I say. . .lots of FIRE!! And tons of space for large noisy stuff! I will post photo's or a link to photo's later. My recommendations: Take BART, they're shuttling people back and forth to the...2 foodvendors, I hear the crepes are great. . line was too long and the event was almost over by the time I decided I was hungry. . sigh. . .
