I bought Cameron new shoes (size 7 wide) in late April. This was the wrong time to buy, because within a month it was too hot to wear them and I had gone back to the store to purchase the sandals he...for height and 62nd for weight. Cf. 15-month stats: 63rd and 47th, respectively. Anyhow, time to go put the new laundry in the dryer. P.S. Sunday and again today: marathon >3-hour naps. Nice
Cameron's speech continues to get better and better. Sunday, for the first time, he said the 's' sound. It's not great, pretty lispy most of the time, but it's coming. Also he says, "GO!!!" with the beginning...a great kid. We also looked for letters in a crossword solution in the newspaper. Me: "Can you find an X?" Him: (looking, finding): "Ack!" Me: "That's right!" Him: (finding another one): "Odder ack!
Cameron continues to get better about staying in bed when he is supposed to. He spent a few days getting up as soon as I pulled the door ajar and making one appearance -- I'd stand near the door and chase... By the time his room was habitable again his tantrum had passed, and he took a drink of water and was out like a light. Sheesh. Most nights, though, he is sleeping through without a peep. SO great
I laughed when I first read, in What to Expect... , the milestone, "Use prepositions." Ha! I thought. It's gonna be six months before Cameron does that . That was three weeks ago. One week later... He was also sounding the 'k' at the beginning of the letter Q. Yay! A few minutes later he seemed to forget, but I think it won't be long before he can, for example, really say his own name. Can't wait
Cameron has started to ask questions. At first I didn't really notice the difference between "Daddy sleeping." and "Daddy sleeping?" because he doesn't yet distinguish the intonation. But within the last...hungry. Now, with no prompting, he announces, "Badee EET!" Then, contentedly, as he's chowing down: "Nammon eanning." I love how he shouts, "I deed eet!" Wow. Talking. So cool. That's all for now

Golly, maybe practicing falling down did work. I don't think he fell out once last night! He did wake up several times, but that's probably because he's come down with a sniffle. Poor snotty little man... I pointed out how the light was now off, so that meant it was time for bed. He only tried twice to come out after being put to bed. Two more nights to go at this rate (hope Murphy isn't listening)
Tonight Cameron only tried to come out three times before he gave up and went to sleep. So, progress . OTOH, he went to bed half an hourlater tonight, so maybe he was just really tired. Still wish those...seemed to me he was reenacting his middle-of-the-night flops and rehearsing not only how the falls would be, but how to get back in the bed after they happen. We'll see if practice makes perfect tonight
The New Bed Story , continued: Night Two (Friday). Cameron spends the day at day care, comes home, eats dinner, and ten seconds before I walk in the door he -- well, let's just say I don't have to...still falling out a lot and/or losing sleep and doesn't seem to be adjusting well I'll put the fourth wall back on his crib and we'll try again in a few months. Any advice from parents out there
As of yesterday Cameron has gotten the idea to move chairs and step-stools to locations where he wants a boost, and use them to stand on to get to things we'd rather he didn't. Pray for us.
