1. The Cobra Starship spoof of that song. You know the one. I hate that song. And the spoof is not really any better, except in the way that it has Cobras instead of that other person. (It might even be...teacher at the moment, and even moreso by Logan's ominous stalkery discovery, but whatever, the grownups are awesome. Having failed, I think, to adequately describe Facebook to suchthefangirl and lamentables , I'm going to try a different approach: apparently, Hugh Dillon plays it in the film . ... (For those in Toronto next week, About Face is being screened as part of World of Shorts August 20 at the NFB Mediatheque . Otherwise, screenings seem to be announced in the About Face blog .
A couple of days ago I watched When Night Is Falling , not realising as I went into it that it was a) Canadian, b) set (or at least filmed) in Toronto, and c) featured Don McKellar and Tracy Wright as...at the same time they're giving her space to come around on her own. It's very nice to see fictional tension that is not necessarily created by someone acting like an asshole for no logical reason
So, there's stuff going on this weekend! Fun, summery Toronto things that I actually intend to participate in this time. I was going to post about things that have been going on in my life and weird things I've been pondering and the fact that Séan McCann's beagle has a blog now (for the love of all that's sparkly, why?...shook each of our hands and was as friendly as a person can be to two crazy people accosting him on a darkened street with no warning, and then we ran cackling off into the night.
