Today I took off from work two hours early to take my truck in for a coolant leak . I sat in the mechanicswaiting room, trying not to get angry about the blatant lies they are telling on Fox News - Evil...to fail, then get it fixed. Meanwhile I will be driving to St. Louis and back three times before the end of the year, part of that on country roads, well out of cell phone range for anyone but God
Preamble Back in April of 2007 I put about $1,000 into the cooling system on my truck. I had the radiator, the hoses, thermostat and water pump done (and the serpentine belt too). Since then I have caught...of the radiator itself and not on the engine block (good thing). On Thursday I have an appointment to get it pressure tested to figure out what exactly is wrong. Here's hoping it is something cheap
Well... the paycheck was nice, but it all went to my car. Not in the sense of car insurance, but more or less getting a flat tire! My brakes were bad, so instead of crashing into the person in front of... I should have applied brake fluid before... I knew I was low, but not that low... And then I took my car to the Wal-Mart Automotive Center... that cost me 75USD... Really, it could have been worse..
This was one of the worst days of my life. I woke up at 9:00, dead tired, went to school, bombed a quiz, then afterwards I got in my car all ready to leave Tampa and come home to Bradenton. Well, as... but there was a moment of Clint-ness that came out when this guy was all "Are you planning on taking our order any time soon?!" so I snapped "BE PATIENT I'LL GET TO YOU AS QUICK AS I CAN, STAY CALM.
The weekend for me started somewhat unexpectedly on Thursday night, when I stopped at a fabric store for a bit and my car utterly refused to start. Like, not even trying to turn over. Urg. Called D...out with people after the event at this little diner, then made it back home at a reasonable hour for relaxing and watching the Patriots. Considering how it started, not a bad weekend at all
So my car's a write-off. Which is great, because you know, what my life was missing was a stressed outhunt for a new car while I'm trying to do midterms and two weeks before my road test. So now I need to get my mum's car while I find a replacement. Also, AAAUGH.
Today I woke up at 9:00. I was fretting my Japanese midterm, but I mustered up enough energy to get ready and all that. I start driving my grandfather's car up to Tampa. All of a sudden, the car stops... half a bag of Vegetable chips, and like... cookies to top it off. I'm going back to the popcorn/pretzel snack diet. No snacks other than those. And I'm continuing my jogging, so that's always a plus.
So back to the subject of car troubles - it's now broken down on me. Oh my luck, you do rock. It got iffy with me yesterday and I figured it would make it home, but not back again and I had a midterm this...in that one. And Prison Break writer's are rocking the interpersonal development this season, even though again, I'm pissed they brought back Sarah, she has been less annoying so far this season
So, Wednesday night I have this dream where my car dies. Thursday afternoon? My car dies. *facepalms* If I was going to have precognitive dreams about my car, couldn't it have happened before I shelled... and we were really looking forward to not having car payments for at least a little while. *grumbles* I will post later with more news, but I'm at work and we've been crazy-busy the last few weeks
Quinn decided to rewire the car today, which was great because we've been having some electrical problems. Well, turns out that we bought the wrong size cable to connect to the battery, so he couldn't... and pick up my bathroom.. But, those things may have to wait until tomorrow (unless Quinn already did them). Well, I guess I should sign off of here since he's on his way. Have a great night!
