Cantonese Merchant's House (p. 1204; yes, the book is that long) I find this one structurally interesting, similar to the House of Pansa in that it's mostly someone's house but has some other businesses...particularly easy. Here's where I really need short staircases. There are sets of two or three steps at two points along the ground floor hallway, but I can't work out something to go there

Great Temple at Abu Simbel (p. 37) Egyptian temple, carved into the face of a cliff. The monumental statues outside are rather iconic. Unlike the previous maps, drawn using various wall and room...or-less the right color: enough contrast to be seen, but not so much that it clashes with the background. The statues don't look even slightly Egyptian but, hey, they're not just columns or blocks

Church of the Apostles, Cologne (p. 355) German Late Romanesque cathedral. The grassy area of the cloister south of the church proper is, of course, open to the sky. Went with a null background... in part because the walls as drawn don't quite line up with the appropriate heights. The round room drawing tool in DD3 was a lifesaver here. Without it, I think I'd have given up on the apsidal bits

Stokesay Castle (p. 422) Ducking into the Middle Ages now. This is a residental castle rather than a purely defensive structure; I'd hate to have to defend all those windows. The exterior staircase leads...moat filled in. Adding to my wishlist for CC symbols: short flights of steps and staircases with landings in the middle (or, indeed, at the end). And I still have to master DD3's corridor tool

House of Pansa (p. 234), another Roman dwelling. This is less a house and more an entire block built around a large house. Most of the rooms, particularly around the edges of the block on the left...surrounded by columns at the very center is open to the sky. Playing with hex grid colors here. I think the light grey is a bit too subtle against the background, but its probably better than black.

This house was excavated in Pompei. There was originally a second story, though, obviously, it was destroyed. The pool and the slightly darker areas within the house are open to the sky. (House of the Vetii, p. 234)

Some time ago, I was wondering what to do with Campaign Cartographer 3 (and DD3 and now CD3). A while after that, I got my hands on a copy of Sir Banister Fletcher's A History of Architecture , which...up walls, and I need to figure out how to do columns properly.  The effects on the walls make it look like they're not quite touching the floor, so I'll need to figure something out there as well.
