I'd heard about these banned illustrations, but hadn't seen them until I came across this old Japanese publication of the book, thought it might be interesting to others as well. The evolution...Leprechauns or elves. At this point, I'd say they've become a melange of all these concepts but their origin is indicative of history and therefore shouldn't be forgotten. Oompa-Loompa-Doopitty-doo!

I'm staying at my dad's for the summer, so I've spent loads of time corrupting my four-year old sister with awesome movies and stuff. So far, I've got her addicted to: Nightmare Before Christmas Corpse... my bf is coming to stay for the weekend tomorrow.
