It's been stormy so I haven't done much. We brought all the flowers back into the greenhouse after letting them have a vacation outside for a few hours. Yesterday I didn't get much time to do anything...kitchen so it was easy to crumble the old soil away from the roots. When I finished I put the new pot outside the greenhouse and let the storms water it. I'm sure those old roots are plumping up nicely

  My Christmas Cactus decided to bloom for Easter!

 The blooming begins! Hopefully, it will ocntinue thru 2 months until after the holidays..   How can they be so pretty and no fragrance.? It's cool today-53 and one last thing to do in the greenhouse...white.  I left it out in the cooler nights as it set and formed it's buds. It blushed pink. It usually sits inside and forms them-and there are cacades of pure white.  Still beautiful tho. more to com

  I love this time of year. The weathers cools and I can feel the winter creeping in. When the days get dreary, thats when the christmas cactus bloom. They're starting early this year. This one has..." So we eat the waffle with me leaning on his cage in the darkened room. We agree, you just can't beat a plain, warm waffle in the morning. Toby: "go nitey nite baby." We go back to our snoozing

Just finished paying some bills and writing a Birthday card out to my Dad, although he won't read it until they return from Mexico. I tended to my houseplants. A calla lilly and christmas cactus are my... Unfortunately, our venus flytraps are dying out. Interestingly, the one in my windowsill at work is thriving. I am now going to turn my attention to googling deluxe/theatrical Halloween costumes

I have 7, count 'em, 7 confirmed buds on the Christmas Cactus. I didn't even get a chance to trim it this year. Next thing you know it's going to demand a bigger pot.
