Okay, I try to lead a minimally damaging existence. Within the constraints of a minimal budget and being a tenant, I do what I can to keep my household waste and emissions to a minimum. I'll even be putting...flights really add up. January (Orlando for a meeting): 0.2 tonnes March (New York for a trade show): 0.1 tonnes April (London for a trade show): 0.7 tonnes That's, quite literally, a tonne of CO2
Professor MacKay's talk on Tuesday was about the feasibility of replacing the energyinfrastructure of the UK so that we no longer use fossil fuels and emit CO2. It could be summarised as "electrify everything"...the same order of magnitude is the Iraq War. One could do an interesting compare-and-contrast about the relative benefits of the banking bailout, eliminating CO2 emissions and fighting a war in Iraq
