...GOT AS MUCH CONTROL OVER THESE GLOVES AS I'D LIKE. For a little while now I've been buying cheap old comic books, cutting them up, and making collages. It's fun! I've got some vague idea about selling these on Etsy ... but for now I'm just going to put them up here. I've titled them with dialogue found in the comics. 5" x 7", on cold-pressed watercolour paper (because I had some scraps around).
Ok so I was gathering info for my dissertation when I stumbled across this: I don't know if I can direct link this but I just LOL'D HARD -- I HAD to share! XD And no, I'm not distracting myself: my dissertation IS about comics. Not as amusing as you might think :P.

This is a good time to head over to Finder to check the comic out. The lateststory arc has recently been finished but is still completely online. It will disappear once the next story starts, so if you want a chance to read a full volume of Finder online for free (even if partly only in uninked state), *now* is the time.
xkcd's current comic (4+ parts) has too many funny things crammed into one short story. I love xkcd. It makes too much sense. Also phdcomics is really good today if you know what a zinc finer is...when you try freezing your victims before stealing their brains me: they lose their powers? darthsambu: no, but you have to thaw out their brains before you can take their powers me: ah
Well. I just finished it, and you know what? I am really disappointed. It just... wasn't the Joker. It wasn't Gotham. It certainly wasn't Batman! (I almost feel like Azzarello added that last scene...any redeeming qualities to this novel. The gore was just distracting. The drugs? Distracting. The rape? Sickening. Not Joker, not classy at all. I guess that's just it. "JOKER" had no class.
As always, the idea of packing alone just makes me want not to leave - add that I should scan some other stuff for the portfolio and... guh. There's a part of me that just wants to dive under the covers...did a while ago from the magazine, because I like how it's printed and I want it in my portfolio, but it appears it's the last copy I have D: Did I give all the rest away? WTF? See you on Sunday. :-
