Today's time on Impressive Title was one of extreme contrasts. First I come within about two hits of hitting the much sought-after Great Wildebeest when it wounds me. As I'm recovering, my connection...game from an animal that I didn't think even dropped items when killed. So all in all, the negative moments seem to balance out the positive ones to the point where this was a fairly neutral IT day
Zoomed off to B&Q immediately after work on Friday and spent some time dithering over which shelf to buy. In the end, settled on a fairly large pine 150cmx30cm shelf. Then, onwards to Ikea, where despite...driver (Beta 190.something) and turning off DEP for Tomb Raider. Their programming obviously sucks, somewhat.. Will be spending spare time this week doing some of the DIY and assembling Ikea furniture
Never before have I been so tempted to buya game console, let alone a handheld one.... What grabbed my attention- Emulation Software Available for: MAME (retro arcade games), Amiga, Atari ST, Commodore...imply to folk that you need a fair amount of computer literacy to get the thing working. Likewise the "emulation software" which also hints that not all games will work or be compatible. But still..
Have other things I'm going to do now I've completed Eversion, but had a quick play with Verge . Graphics not that bad, fun gameplay. Dying (on spiked pits) is actually necessary to progress through...out there, including OS X. Yes, there are a few exceptions, and some are very impressive, but for sheer breadth of product Windows really does seem to rule. Corrections to this statement welcomed.
Apparently I haven't updated in a week. I have a feeling that my entries will now become a little more frequent as a new web filtering system has come into effect at work and the onyl website I can not... music and computer games, that is my life. Which explains why I'll be watching The Saturdays in Manchester tonight. Finally! PS - Torchwood was very goodlast night. They've finally made it good
Siftables - I found this through a game design competition for the use of these (not yet buyable) components - http://www.bgdf.com/node/1469#comments The video is very impressive - what happens if you have small colour LCD displays attached to motion and proximity sensors and some cool interactivesoftware.
My brother is on another of his fads to study and not have fun. Mind you - he usually gets too obsessive about things anyway, especially RTS games. So he's given me all his games. Probably until he comes...Chest and The Battle for Middle Earth. I suppose it will give me something to do after I finish Velvet Assassin. I'm already bored of Plants vs Zombies having gone through all the games and mini games
A few days ago, in what I still regard as a remarkably lucid moment, I wrote down a list of stepping-stones to work toward in getting the computer game I've been trying to put together into a usable state...need. Instead of floating the pieces above the hexagons, I'll just have blank hexagon images and hexagon images with each of the pieces shown. That ought to eliminate a layer of complexity, I think
