Getting Win95/98 screensavers to work in XP

For years, I've been wondering how to get the old Windows 98 Plus! screensavers to work with XP; I especially liked the "haunted house" one titled MYSTERY.SCR, but simply running it in XP results in a...Screen Savers list. Enjoy. I found the two .DLL files in my regular system32 directory in Win98. A little lengthy, but I have been able to get the screensavers to work under XP using these procedures

OSX86 Take… 5?

Originally published at platea.us . You can comment here or there . So it looks like I’m overdue for another shot at OSX. Here’s a rundown of the hardware I’ll be running it on: AMD Athlon 64 X2...it won’t be as quiet. And so it goes. Quick Update: I just checked my OSX wiki page and I’m using a Realtek ALC883 audio chipset. I have to apply a patch for it, but nothing earth-shattering.

New MacBooks

I used a MacBook yesterday (one of the new ones) and would like to say that I'm in love with Apple again. But I do have a gripe and a question. Firstly, the lack of a Firewire 400 port on either machine...replace them when they get a new notebook. Also, why does the MacBook Pro need two graphics cards you have to log out to switch between? Why not just include the better one? Am I missing something
