After a whirlwind two weeks, I'm finally back in Mobile. From July 1 through July 7, I was in Bloomington, Minnesota at CONvergence. It totally ROCKED! I had the best time and am seriously considering...all the fun I had, I'm happy to be home again. Mel the Muse traveled with me and collected an array of new Writer Motivating Devices that she's eager to use on me. But first...The Big Announcement.
The FOCS accepted papers (with abstracts) have been posted. Since not every conference is doing this, I think it bears repeating that the addition of abstracts to these lists is a very welcome innovation of recent years. I just returned from Montpellier, France, where I was invited to speak at WG 2009 , the 35th International Workshop on Graph-Theoretic Concepts in Computer Science. This was my first trip to France,...in his "Platologic Computation" talk (available here for Windows or here for iTunes). All in all, a good conference, and one I would attend much more regularly if only it weren't so far away
So because I'm a spaz I have some delayed info for everyone. Here, in Spokane there is going to be a youth conference next month for LGBTQ youth ages 14-21 that is completely free. Under the cut is the...another depending on how many people are actually interested. I guess I just want to know what everyone thinks of this idea and if anyone would be interested. X-posted to many other communites
