Leaving all those Japan posts for a bit to try and clear out some of my posting backlog. Time to share a bit of what we were doing in Melbourne last month, starting with the Amaranth Ball. So I decided it would be awesome if my cafe did like STAFF show, since like half the staff is involved in visual art, the other 50% is architecture and music. haha. My boss thought this is a GREAT IDEA...work, but she was going to a concert and didn't so I sulked. BUT an hour or so after I finished work she invited me to meet her at ONE of the starbucks by my apartment. So I got to see her anyway.
Last weekend at OVFF I conversed with a woman who had the badge name "Badger". I'd like to stay in touch, but I didn't think to get any sort of contact info. I saw her real name once, but I'm doing well to remember the badge name. I don't know if she's on LJ. If anyone who was at OVFF knows how to contact her, let me know. Replies are screened.
When we loaded the car and headed on our way to Vermont, I had no idea it was going to be such an action packed weekend. BakuretsuCon is run by a good friend of ours anyway, so we knew it was going to...was ever a con I would recommend you add to your list, it would be this one. I had a blast and can't wait to do it all again next year. Sincere thanks to everyone who helped make this con amazing.
Well just about to start packing. I can hardly believe that in about 24 hours I will be in Melbourne about to meet David! (he is still going to the cocktail party... I think). *squee*

Since preparing the chilies , the most exciting events have been Mile High Con on the weekend, and eating the chili on Tuesday. Mile High Con was fun, but very laid back this year. Mike supposes Worldcon... That was a fun process, Bell jars and lids and boiling water. I got two 3 cup jars to take home out of the 14 full jars. And now I know how to can things to save them! Survival skill increased

Day 291. At The Hub con, they had a room set up like Jack's office. This was on the desk - a Webley and some file folders. Photos that were on "Jack's desk". Me sitting at Jack's desk. ...and playing with a grenade launcher! A really bad photo of me dressed up for Saturday's party with was "big band" themed.
