In what can be described as either as a final death knell or the last punch in a beat down, Alaska Senator Ted Stevens was found guilty in his corruption trial and has vowed to keep running despite his felony conviction. This comes on top of Governor Palin is causing strife in the McCaincampaign by going off message at almost every given opportunity. McCain aides have responded by calling her...
Ted Stevens (R - Alaska) has been found guilty on all counts. They are all related to him getting $250,000 in free work done on his house. Personally, I hope they throw the book at him (5 years x 7 counts = 35 years = the rest of his life) as an example to help keep other Congresscritters in line. Sadly, I'd put my money on zero days in jail.

Good question, huh? This election I think I am going to take a back seat and watch how things play out. I am aware that it is my right as an American to be able to vote but why would i vote for something...out of their chairs. This is a country for the people made by the people and I'm sick of watching our corupt government ruin what we worked so hard to build up. Who are you going to vote for and why
Nice bit of work here, with some funky music and groovy graphics inspiring you to vote, and then some smippets from the news in Florida and Ohio and elsewhere, from actual elections here in America that were obviously FUBAR. Worth a look, I think, just to keep in mind that it is not our imagination that there has been foul play with our elections. Video the Vote
"Contrarian that I am, I’m voting for John McCain. I’m not talking about bucking the polls or the media consensus that it’s over before it’s over. I’m talking about bucking the rush of wet-fingered conservatives...years." - Charles Krauthammer
Really good article on the so called Republicans who are jumping to Obama's camp.

...watch the sun give a brilliant morning display. The radio plays a love song. I could compare it to my life and listen as I marvel at this untouched world. This land has never known greed, vanity, corruption, violence. This land is hopeful; a land in need of someone who will keep it as a memory, so when the industrial human wages war and then declares victory; when the hills will hold mansions with...
The campaign had lasted much longer than anyone dreamed it would. In the beginning, a few of the early starters forged ahead in the polls, establishing a name for themselves, a trademark image, hoping...the price of their souls! Some day all of them would regret this decision. For most the regret would be too late. For a very few, redemption came before it was too late. This tale is fiction
... tempered with the stout midwestern ethic, Chicago would really be a shining example of what a city should be. Yet, it continues to mutate and degrade further into a slimy morass, a stinking swamp of corruption, mismanagement and chaos. It's the life story of someone who just can't manage to get their priorities straight. The longer I'm here, the more I'm disappointedin Chicago. Once upon a time...
