Well, I had the brilliant idea that I would wear Luminara Unduli for Halloween this year, since I now have a lightsaber with a blade. When I wore it for the normals a few years ago, I got, "Are you a witch...of see Anakin because my robes are so dark, but um... Trick or treaters count: 180. Best costumes: homemade Thing 1 and Thing 2 and the Cat in the Hat. Oh, and I saw Darth Vader and Yoda tonight

This past weekend, and this week, have been all about getting ready for Steam Powered. Over the weekend sinmix  , clockworkbuddha   and self hit Scrap , which was a little overwhelming...series and I provided the cover for one of the issues. I'm not done reading them all, but I looked at all the purty pictures! Also, over at Huffpo I found this fascinating piece on clean tagging

My copy of Patterns of Fashion 4 arrived yesterday--COLOR pictures!! 15 SMOCKS!!! DRAWERS!!! It's just in time for my class project, and  means I can start working on my Pentathlon project, too. (Eowyn...lose 43 more pounds, my options are a little limited. I'm shooting for a smock (test run of the one for Pentathlon), loose kirtle, loose gown, and some kind of hat. Need to look at more pictures.

So the guys are all done except for ties and cravates, here's my costume...it looks better on the dress dummy:-) The bolero is made out of cotton jacqard with linen lining, and silk velvet piping...go ahead and make the waist cincher. Here it is at work.  My husband is doing the carving of a phoenix breaking out of a gear.  Yep...Clockwork Phoenix is born.  There'll be an Etsy page soon.  

everyone hail to the pumpkin song This weekend was fun, despite me bringing the rain. Yes rubyhaze41 , watch out, our weather tendencies seems to be spilling over to other outdoor events, not...to try to triage my projects anyway, but I don't know how heavy coursework is going to get before the holidays come around. Who knows. But for now, I'm going to enjoy the season and keep chugging along

OK, these are my #2 and #3 ever Steampunk projects. Red coat has silk lapels and the black has brass riveted leather lapels and....the top, a black leather gear also riveted per the wearers design.  :-)

THIS was soooooo worth it! So, I made a costume for my 3 week old niece. :D Oh yeah, you knew it would be that, didn't you? LOL However, she's not as thrilled with the camera as her big brother. Big thanks go out to archaicrebel   who took the pictures for me.
