I sent Gulliver (the 5th) out yesterday. Hopefully he is now having a safe journey to his new home. ♥ Three years after the year I cosplayed Eureka seveN, I'm still making Gullivers. XD; I have all these cut out pieces of Gulliver in my drawer (since I was planning on making 7 of him) but now the remaining pieces don't seem to match up. Poor thing.
I've been sewing simple toys out of an old table cloth, and I'm trying to think of something else than cotton wool to stuff them with. Something natural/not bleached/eco-friendly/etc. Do you have any tips or ideas?
Just a quick question: I'm making a crocheted chew toy for a baby, and I'd like to give it a wash before I hand it over to the child. I have no kids myself, so I have no idea - what's a safe detergent/cleaning agent to handwash a toy that's going to be chewed on?
Speaking of Western imperialism and native tribes, for the past week, Bean has been working on the diorama she had to do for her Social Studies class. She was supposed to create a diorama demonstrating...Perce changed their view of non-violence and peace to survive. 2) Conflict and Warfare – Nez Perce engaged in battle in the Nez Perce War. So yeah, that's how me and Bean spent the first part of 2010
I am thoroughly enjoying time off with my kidlet, which has been busy time but busy fun time. Yesterday we had a house full of girls from the dojo over to bake and decorate cookies. Let me tell you...application of Red #5 and its relatives. Gorgeous gorgeous. And because we live in Tucson, the baroque holiday treats last forever because everything in Tucson becomes fossilized after two days.
Woo hoo! I finished my First Knitting Project Ever and made a beanie for Bean. You're looking at it. Ain't it sweet? I'm going to go make a little flower doodad thingy for the top now. Also, she's...weekend. I'll tell you about that later. Right now I have a flower doodad thingy to tend to. Go me. I knitted something! Add knitting to the List Of Things I Do. EDIT: FLOWER DOODAD THINGY!
I embellished a shirt for Sean today, during his nap. I found a relatively simple clip-art image of a snowman, enlarged it, and printed it out. The various parts of the snowman were cut out of craft felt...applique. The finished shirt. I think he likes it...and the Santa hat adds just the right touch! This is what it's like, trying to take a photo lately!
One thing that's good to do on a Saturday, if you're Bean, is get out your VAST COLLECTION of Build-A-Bear Critters, dress them in various outfits, and go on a camping trip in your house. For the...is that doll tent (which is actually a cat tent) just as onerous to set up as an actual people tent? Hmmm? Of course, the Fur Sharks like to join in on the critter camping. Happy Saturday!
I just don't know what's wrong with me, lately. I can't go to sleep before 12:30 anymore, and when I do, I'm waking up every few hours. Lame. There's more lovely drama at work. Joy. The boss's sister... Mmmm, shrimp... Okay, I'm back! I may also try the cute little arugumi (sp?) animals that got me interested in crochet in the first place. I blame Amanda for teaching me in the first place. :) ;
