Well, I'm back in the States, boyfriendless. After 2 days and 20 hours worth of flying I'm finally here. Apart against our wills, but whatever. Long story. We are apart just long enough to save up money...be sewing. Pattern: Butterick B5031 The one on the top left. Isn't the black one a fucking LAMPSHADE? Who would ever wear that. Some of the most hideous clothes are in pattern books. Ick

"Crock-pot" is a funny word. Also! We bought a crock-pot this weekend, specifically because I found a recipe so very strange that I had to try it: Pepsi pork roast . I mean, it reads like something out... which always augurs well for cooking. Now I just have to figure out the trick of cutting up meat without *also* slicing open my thumb. Ah well; at least I have superglue to put the nail back together

...but Brian finally got his MacBook Pro, which meant he could process pictures without his computer dying, which meant he could get me the properly-processed versions of my 80s-night costume pictures...a photo printer now, so I can put these up on my wall here at work with the caption "From my audition for Mad Max 4 ". Okay, cue the uproarious laughter in five, four, three, two, one..

Posting from the airport because they have free WiFi, which is really nice.  The whole world should be equipped with free WiFi. Thursday was my last day of work.  They gave me a good review, although...No.  Police: Well, it will take us about an hour to get out to your home.  Neighbor: Oh, never mind.  I'll just shoot him.  Ten minutes later he heard the sirens of the closer sheriff department's car.

-I finished my gourds. - I watched the movie Slither .  It started off like a bad B-movie horror/gore thing, but then it got funny.  ( I'm so hungry... can somebody pass me that possum? )  Why...me, and I needed to get rid of them.)  The librarian was so excited, and I felt like some good came out of purchasing them.  -Okay, four things.  Tomorrow is my LAST DAY at my current job.  Yay!

L and I spent all day today making gourd & pine needle baskets.  I finished one, and have one completed except for adding the pine needles.   The Product

I'VE JUST OFFICIALLY SOLD MY FIRST HANDBOUND BOOK! :D  I'm slightly annoyed that they would only pay £6 for it, seeing as the watercolour paper I used for the pages cost me £4 on its own, but hey....my sister's school year's leavers week and they all want books for people to write messages in. A lot of my sister's form saw her waving around the book I made for her to use, and they all want one!
