What is your fondest childhood memory of your father or grandfather? View 1419 Answers
I never knew either of my grandfathers, so this is about my Dad. Most men, I feel, would say when their fathers taught them to play x sport. My parents had me late in life (Dad was 44 when I was born), so he couldn't really do that with me, and I was possibly the most uninterested in sports...
My family had a lot of skeletons and demons (maybe one of the reason's I've embraced Snape?) but my fondest memory of my dad was him playing his guitar...my sisters and I would sing Puff the Magic Dragon with him. He left when I was almost 13, and our relationship fractured even more...after my mother died I started talking to him more, learning who he was, why he did the things he did...
...been toying with the idea of getting a tattoo since i was a kid. never saw anything i couldn't live without. i figured one day i'd design one of my own. now i'm considering someone else's. since my dad died, i've got this idea in my head and it won't go away. i'm considering having one of his sketches inked on my skin. my dad was a graphic artist and obsessed over planes. i have a stack of designs...
... though it's located just under a mile from our current place, so those of you who occasionally come and visit will be able to find us easily! :) Oh and don't forget to bring the Space Munchkin... ;) Dad's still with us, having had hernia surgery 2 days ago. I gather it'll take a good 6 weeks until he'll be fully fit and able to do what he wants, so we'll have him on coffee and tea duties on the move...
...be much of an update. I've gone through some of your journals to catch up with your lives, but I didn't leave many comments due to my mind having the consistency of oatmeal at this point. It's my dad's birthday today and I feel absolutely terrible that I forgot about it until this morning. See what midterms do? They ruin you. It's also worth mentioning that I forgot my wallet at home so I'm going...
.....but y'all watch out.... tweeti 's gonna be on a tear for a while, until she gets through the nicotine withdrawals. Hunbear was more upset about the tire than I was. My sis is probating Dad's property today, now we have to wait and see what happens next. She's going to try and sell the land and keep the house. The money realized from the land will go to pay off the mortgage on the house...
So, just now, I went downstairs with a Coke Zero and my phone, and my iPod on, to do the dishes. They were done, and I was feeling like going on a walk after having just finished watching last night's...tank top. But I'm not going to tell you you shouldn't smoke. Asshole. Un-friends-locked so anyone who cares to LJ-stalk me knows the level of rage I reserve for sexism. I'm going to go be happy now

Bir çox serbiyalı isə Mladiçi qəhrəman olaraq görür
...of pebbles beneath the rubber soles of worn brown work boots belonging to her father rounding the car to stand, and then peer curiously at her through the open car door. Not the boots, but her dad's genuinely peculiar almond shaped black eyes stared, unmoved, in at her. She chose, not in unkindness, not to acknowledge the stare, and he closed the door rather gently than she'd expected. She...
