Tasty sauce for braaaaaaaaaaaaaaaainz!

When I was in preschool, there was a kid at Kindercare in Lansing who would sing "Beat It" pretty much every day. Unfortunately, he wasn't quite sure of the lyrics, and just sang the words the way he heard...or webcast, waiting for that zombie hand to punch through the coffin and the guests to start stagger-dancing. As Trey said, Andy Kaufman will have to show up, if only to do the 'Citizen Cane' clap.

We watched the big Oscars telecast last night. In general it was pretty snoozy, probably because I'd only seen a handful of the nominated movies ( Wally, Dark Knight, Frost/Nixon and The Wrestler...it from mostly far away with the camera constantly in motion. I think they did it to make it more visually interesting but it mostly just restuled in most of the names being very hard to read.

Today, I am celebrating life by taking the Hollywood death tou r.    I'm hoping John Waters might actually show up as a fellow tourist. I would be chillin with my best friend Matt today, however, it...  I thought to myself;  "self, what can I do today?"..... The tour starts in 20 minutes, so I gotta pack up at the cafe here.   More later tonight.  The train trip down the other day needs to be posted.

One of my favorite character actors of all time died today -- James Whitmore. Article at Yahoo News He was in dozens of television and movie productions from 1949 to his last filmed performance in...of that son's death. Thank you, Mr. Whitmore, for a lifetime of superb performances! I'm only sorry I never got to see you on stage, since you made it clear that was your preferred performance venue.

Lux Interior died this morning . It didn't break until this evening. Ouch. Sunglasses After Dark will do an all-Cramps show this week in memory.

That's right! Today is Chinese, Vietnamese, and Korean New Year. "I am all of these things, in addition to white." hahaha Sam. Anywho, HAPPY YEAR OF THE OX!!!!! May you have good waves in the new year...200, but my calendar will tell me and I shall gladly display my nerdy knowledge on the morrow. So, with an oxlike lumber in your step, and a Mozart aria in your heart, go forth and celebrate!!!! :

Last night at our New Year's gathering we talked about which celebrities would kick the bucket in 2009. We each picked one person. I'm posting them here for the record so we can check next year and...ID, a metro card and a credit card in it. Kristen managed to track down the owner (thanks, Facebook!) and we're arranging the drop. Hopefully this good deed will get us off to a great start for 2009.
