Date: March 26, 2009 Location: Luling, Texas Victim: 2-yr-old male Breed: Pit Bull Circumstances: Dog had given birth and was chained out in a wooden area with two other dogs. At some point, child wandered away and approached chained dog. Child was killed. Police said the chained pit bull attacked the boy  in a wooded area, where two other dogs still remained Thursday night.

Somehow the dog broke...tried to remove it when Tasha, the dog, suddenly broke free from her collar and attacked. “She ran inside and got her mother’s roommate,” Williams said. “He pulled the dog off and shot the dog.”

Date: February 10, 2009 Location: Omaha, NE, bsl Victim: 12-yr-old male Breed; American Bulldog Severity: Level 4, two bites Circumstances: Dog may have been provoked. Dog was chained. Broke from chain...dog named Grits escaped from his chain and ran after a group of children. The kids scattered into a nearby house and onto cars.    Witnesses says the dog tackled Thomas and bit him in his armpit.

Date: January 20, 2009 Location: Beaver County, Pennsylvania Victim: 8-yr-old female Breed: Mixed breed Circumstances: Several dogs kept chained on the property. Victim wandered too close to one and was...were no witnesses to the attack. Beaver County Coroner Teri Tatalovich-Rossi said the girl was bitten multiple times in different places on her body; DeMaiolo said the locations included her neck.
