For the third installment of a three post series starring one giant can of pumpkin puree I bring you my piece d'resistance, the (and I am quoting my hubby here) "best thing I have ever baked". Pumpkin...move to a wire rack to finish cooling. Makes 4 dozen cookies. I hope you enjoyed this little mini series starring a seriously giant (but really just 15oz) can of ED Smith pumpkin puree. Cheers~
After making the previously posted pumpkin bread, I still had two thirds of the can of pumpkin puree so I hunted around for a muffin recipe. (I love muffins and probably bake at least one batch a week...teaspoons of pumpkin pie spice in lieu of those and the cinnamon and I used applesauce instead of oil. These muffins are good, not very sweet though the raisins are perfect for that. Bon Appetit
Walker Coffeehouse is a student-run weekly cafe at my college. This year I'm one of the two bakers and last night was my first on the job. I didn't get a chance to take photos of everything I made,...me think of something to do with the filling? It's currently sitting in a paper cup on my desk... JFYI, I have 4 eggs in my fridge and can relatively easily obtain butter from the dining hall. TIA!
After putting my fruitcakes in to steam I had about a cup to a cup and a half of batter leftover, and no idea what to do with it... Someone on IRC jokingly suggested fruity oaty bars (a la Serenity...as well but by the time it was done steaming and baking there was no daylight, and fruitcake under incandescent bulbs just looks like barf no matter how much I mess with it on the computer! ;
The cookies are irresistable and so simple to make! I got the recipe from the Cooking book in the Marie Claire series. INGREDIENTS 125g butter, softened 1 tsp vanilla extract 3/4 cup...of baking paper. Bake in oven for about 15 minutes until golden. Place on a wire rack to cool (they'll firm up, don't worry). Enjoy! Makes about 25. See more recipes at my food blog oohyum
Okay folks. I am on a quest and I need your help. I have been googling for recipes for 'Orange cranberry muffins' for a few days now, and I'm not finding the specific info I so desperately seek. I want...my muffin needs (is there such a thing as a 'muffin need'???), but I'm also trying to find one that satisfies my serving needs. Anyone out there have something they could share with me? Thanks!
I felt like baking scones when i woke up so i dug out my easiest scone recipe and went to buy milk and raisins before i could get started. Got the recipe from someone else here but i can't remember...biscuits (i'm SO gonna bake those soon) and i think that the scones would taste better if i used buttermilk instead of slim milk. Brush with egg yolk halfway thru baking. YUMMY with strawberry jam
Some time ago, my Mum and I baked some hot cross buns. So what if it wasn't Easter? They were delicious. The crosses were proving a little difficult, so we just ended up drizzling it in...Dough can also be used to make Caramel-Nut Sticky Rolls, and Easy Fruit-Filled Braid. I will try and post those recipes at a later date. If you try making these, I'd love to see the results :)
This is an old old favourite, reminds me of being 7 years old with my mum in the kitchen and giggling over our sticky fingers. It's a great recipe to use if you're just hankering after some baked...warm. For me, it's the baked equivalent of a hug from my mum. Boyfriend broke up with you? Failed that test? Scraped your knee? Have some of these and a good sulk, it'll do you the world of good.
