Ooh, ooh, ooh! My husband ordered a Kindle for me as a combined birthday and anniversary present! My Kindle lust will soon be satisfied! He had offered to get it for me earlier, but it was so expensive...endorsed the Kindle and until Saturday night, November 1, you can get $50 off (making the price $309) when you order with the special code listed on her site. I can hardly wait for it to get here
So, I just made my first "order" of an e-book. Instant satisfaction as delivery is immediate. I miss the book format feel though. Since I am starting to run low on books I am in the mood for, it will be...it. Maybe $1.75? *sigh* Luckily, Black Magic Woman that is occult urban fantasy/mystery is turning out a pretty easy quick read and fits in with my halloween mood of having witches and curses in it

The DearAuthor blog weighs in on e-reader brands , more specifically e-readers with e-ink, which leaves out phones and PDAs that reply on software to work as e-readers. In addition to mentioning their...commenters appear familiar with reading books on screens. Some prefer multi-use mini-laptops and some are e-reader fans. So I guess there's no single product that will please everyone—at least not yet
It seems to me when it comes to assessing e-readers there are several factors to consider: Readability—from what I hear, the Sony e-reader or maybe the iLiad would come in first one this one. Convenience/usability—how... So it looks like maybe that factor trumps the others? I was going to add price, but it seems to me if you already bought the phone and all you have to but is an app, iPhone would win at that, too
For those who own or moderate groups on discussion lists for e-mail and the like, may I give some advice? DO NOT allow members to upload e-books of a favorite series to your site. State it in the rules...if I saw someone steal a book at a bookstore, this is the same thing. Does this make me a horrible person? Yep. And you know something, I don't care. You just don't do crap like that. Argh...HUMANS!!
