I note with interest that Dell have launched their answer to the Asus Eee PC , the Inspiron Mini 9 . Big deal - so's everyone. The bit I find interesting is the fact they offer Ubuntu Linux as one of the default OS choices. Shame they give it less SSD storage than the XP version.

На интернет-сайте LWN.net появилась статья о том, как двое инженеров из компании Intel, Арьян Ван де Вен (Arjan van de Ven) и Аук Кок (Auke Kok), сумели загрузить операционную систему на ядре Linux всего за пять секунд. В качестве подопытного выступил ASUS Eee PC. Это может стать отличным маркетинговым подспорьем для распостранения Linux в массах.

Ya que hablé brevemente de las Netbooks en un artículo anterior, mucha gente se pregunta dónde comprar una. Aunque primero sería efectivo preguntarse si se quiere realmente comprar una. En otros países...seguras, aunque para pugnar por una factura habrá que agregar el IVA. En noviembre arribará de manera oficial la versión de Toshiba y seguramente lo hará a través de los canales conocidos de venta.

Soy un gran pero gran fanático de las computadoras personales (PC) y estaciones de trabajo (Workstation), y he visto la evolución de las mismas desde hace 15 años. Mi primer PC tenía 32 Mb en RAM y 16...puedo decir que tengo un equipo muy exclusivo, apenas conozco a un puñado de personas en México con una similar a la mía. Ni una MacBook Air pues :). Más adelante hablaré más a fondo de éstos equipos.
