Short segment from Entertaiment Tonight- and Michael Ausiello from EW got to watch the 5-episode screener & gives his feedback.... Question: I just watched the first five episodes of ...can't flatten with leaden metaphors." (Truthfully, I have no idea what the heck that means, but it sounds wicked smaht.) But as a purely escapist piece of entertainment fluff? I kind of loved it.
I don't mean to be "spamming" my friends list. I'm just in a posting mood,. Hopefully, I'm not annoying anyone too terribly much. So Jennie and Shannen are on the cover of Entertaiment Weekly (obviously...then... This picture is kind of crappy quality. It's from a promo shoot for their freshman year of college. The feud must have been in full swing because this was Shannen's last season on the show
In what they're calling an "Unprecedented Partnership" (wasn't it preceded by a very similar deal with the Chicago Tribune ? I don't think unprecedented means what you think it means), as I posted earlier...marketingarrangement with some Guru Guides and TiVoCasts. ;-) I'd be happy to be surprised by there being more to it, but that's what it sounds like. A good deal, but not warranting such effusiveness
Reuters is reporting that TiVo will partner with Entertainment Weekly, allowing TiVo subscribers to records programs suggested by the magazine's staff. TiVo is expected to announce the deal later today...(Wednesday), likely before their financial conference call in the afternoon. This sounds much like TiVo's existing deal with the Chicago Tribune . It will probably be an Entertainment Weekly Guru Guide
Hot off the presses of TWoP via K-site via EW.com blah blah blah... Question: Do you have any new Lois/Clark Smallville scoop? -- Trish Ausiello: At some point within the first sevenepisodes...Clark's secret? Hmmm...Maybe I'm way off base. Any ideas? Also, there's got to be someone with a more creative mind than me who can come up with a "slashier" response for those fill in the blanks...;-)
On their site a couple of weeks ago Entertainment Weekly asked people to submit what would be considered the sexiest scenes ever on TV and from those suggestions, the site team would pick their Top pics...my comment to illustratethe scene's popularity and suitableness for the list. How cool is that? So yeah...kind of silly but very cool! Yay for being coherent enough to be the quote chosen
Their idea of 'Girl Power' I am afraid that I am giving Entertainment Weekly exactly what they want,i.e., people talking about them, but I can't resist. Essential Girl Power movies? Give me a break...DIARIES (2001) ADVENTURES IN BABYSITTING (1987) LABYRINTH (1986) AKEELAH AND THE BEE (2006) THE LITTLE PRINCESS (1995) LOST IN TRANSLATION (2003) HAIRSPRAY (2007) This is my idea of Girl Power
TwiMoms White Queen Project . A major example on how the rabid lovers of Twilight absolutely hate differing opinions. Now they're just drawing more attention to how crazy these fans are at times. It's...such a backlash against them. Oh well, the way I see it, if you can't take the heat, get out of the kitchen. I've had worse bashings than they have, so I can't make myself feel any sympathy for them
But not in an evil or clever way. I massacred all of last year's Entertainment Weekly s while Elyse was here, and now I'm cutting up some pictures and I went to Target and bought posterboard and glue...keep up with our letter writing. One of these days (aka, not tomorrow, and probably not Saturday or Sunday) I'm going to clean up my tags and go back and tag all of my posts. One of these days..
Back in March, Stephen King discussed the art of the blurb in Entertainment Weekly. He says, “Early on, nobody blurbed any of mine. Carrie, 'Salem's Lot, and The Shining were published before the art... It isn't just about the artist, either. A blurb is sometimes a better way to point people toward the good stuff than a 2500-word review. It's certainly more direct.” Read more here .
