Hi all, I was wondering what you would do in this situation: The oven in my apartment stopped working the week of Thanksgiving. I called my landlord when it broke (she was then living in Washington, I...Should I ask her again? or should I just pay to have it fixed? I feel so inconvenienced by not having an oven, but it seems as though she should pay to fix it, as she implied she would from the beginning
http://community.livejournal.com/hip_domestics/6403361.html Some of you might recall my post quite a while ago about our noisy neighbors. I meant to post a follow-up sooner, but in the period of time...it was kind of strange for her to say what she did. Other than this strange conversation the noise problem is mostly fixed! We are saving to buy our own home so *hopefully* someday we can move
Question on laundry room etiquette: How long should you wait before removing someone's unattended load from a dryer after it's finished? Assuming that there are no other dryers available, that is. This would be in the laundry room of an apartment complex or dorm building where you have to pay for the washer and dryer separately. I've come across this a few times where I've wondered how long is long...
Hi everyone! I posted here about what to do with the kids during my sister's wedding. I appreciated all the advice! My sister ended up calling me this morning to tell me that not putting the kids on...to do is have husband stay home with the youngest since he's still pretty young, and I'll go to the wedding with my oldest, and we may have to leave the reception early. Thanks again for all the help
What is proper etiquette for sending out baby announcements? How late is too late? I'm sure I'm in the clear as my son is only 3 weeks old, but I wanted to know about how long I have before it's just too weird to send them out.
... The envelop was addressed to both me and my husband. The inside envelop is blank, but the RSVP again has both our names, and the RSVP card just says "check one" for the yes/no slot. I thought etiquette stated if your name isn't on the invitation, you aren't invited. So, does this mean no kids? What do I do about my older son then, since he's actually in the wedding . I emailed my sister but...
I have two giant boxes in my mother's attic full of Breyer horses . I'm planning on picking through the 30-40 I have and picking out one or two to display, but since I'm no longer a horse-crazy teenager...keep her happy? They've already been up there six years, I'm sure another few decades to keep her happy won't hurt, but I'd really like to give someone else a chance to love them the way I used to. Help
So, umm, it would seem that there are three weddings that friends are having that I don't seem to be invited to. One of which I had talked about making her reception dress as a gift, and two are friends...because you are friends, and you value their friendship, doesn't mean that when added to the pool of "family" that you may not be able to hold a candle to aunt mable and her 4 kids. (Thanks Everyone!
One of the faculty members in my graduate program is hosting a farewell party for another faculty member whose contract was not renewed for next year. In my RSVP for the party, I asked her if attendees...would like my boyfriend to be there to meet all of the faculty and graduate students with whom I everyday, but I also don't want the faculty member who has been laid off to feel uncomfortable. Thanks
My cousin is getting married next month, and this will be the first wedding I'll be attending as a grown up. I got the wedding invitation a week ago, but not any registry cards. I talked to my mother,...a jerk. Also, there was no attire information on the invite, so would I be correct in thinking that I can wear a nicer cotton dress, and my date can wear dress pants/dress shirt (and possibly a tie)
