This is from a quick attempt at trying to describe the feather aliasing problem earlier: I'm having trouble with the layers of metaphor in feather, now that i need to deal with aliasing.  At the top you just stuff in a stream of bytes and get a key back, or give a key and get the stream of bytes back.  But after the stream is broken up into blocks and gets stored, each block has two possible names...
