The family saga is a particularly happy form for me because the familiar sturm und drang of life in a large family provides ready-made drama, often from the author's own experience. The saga works...album with with the alternate version of the main title that had incorporated the end title arrangements, but determined early on that anything following this track would be anti-climactic.

My Varèse Sarabande shipment arrived today! North and South Book II is nothing short of amazing. I think I might do a mix of this music; a difficult prospect to boil six CDs down to a cohesive single, to be sure, but this music is truly inspiring. This comes closer to being a follow-up to Max Steiner's iconic Gone With the Wind as anything I've ever heard.
