On my way back from the train station, in the middle of town, I passed through this no-man's land where a row of Daucus broteri (a cousin of the well-known carrot) were growing. The flowers have this lovely black spot in the middle meant evolutionarily to attract beetles and bees.   And.. lo and behold... it works! The little red fellow is trying very hard to get to this sexy black spot..
