MARVEL Astonishing X-Men #30 - Warren Ellis + Simone Bianchi. A weak end to the story arc with the pointless death of a character that was rarely handled as well as he should have been. Avengers... "The Xbox 300" (the Spartans from Halo in the plot of 300 against the forces of Mario), send ups of Planet Hulk and Secret Invasion , and even some fun with Transformers. Same as it ever was.

MARVEL Beta Ray Bill: Godhunter #1 of 3 - Kieron Gillen + Kano. After the events of Secret Invasion Aftermath: Beta Ray Bill - The Green of Eden , good ol' BRB is sick and tired of Galactus and...characterization is handle in sparce pieces of melodrama. Again, a perfect example of what Thor was like at the time. Hard to imagine that 15 issues later Warren Ellis would be writing the series.

So, the previous week the issue of Wolverine I got was #73. The issue I had picked up prior to that one was #71. I assumed the shop had skipped again like they had with Cable #13. Nope, Marvel pulled...( 1977 ) - featuring Dr Druid (more accurately, it's reprints of pre-Marvel Lee & Kirby tales of a character named Dr Droom who, after the advent of Marvel and a certain Dr Doom, was renamed Dr Druid

MARVEL Avengers/Invaders #10 of 12 - Ross/Krueger + Sadowski/Berkenkotter. My main thought as I read this was, "Get on with it!" The story is so steeped in plot that there isn't any room for the...- Larry Hama + Mike Hawthorne. No rayguns, no ubertech, this series relies on military action of a small, clandestine, and realistic scale. And it's some great, great stuff. With great covers -

MARVEL Agents of Atlas #3 - Jeff Parker & Gabriel Hardman/Clayton Henry. Two tales for the price of one, and both are awesome. Astonishing Tales #3 - Wolverine & Punisher by Cebulski & Rocafort... Yes, I already have all four series. Hell, I even have multiple copies of some of them for the various covers. But now I've got them in a nice, big, heavy, all-in-one-place hardcover. I'm a geek.

Let's do this. MARVEL Avengers: The Initiative Featuring Reptil one-shot - Christos Gage and Steve Uy. Strong writing that revolves around characters while also following up on things left dangling...having the Supergirl of the 60s and the Supergirl of the 00 meet and swap places, adding in this new and never to be seen again bad guy as some sort of major threat was just over complicating things

MARVEL Astonishing Tales #2 - Cebulski & Rocafort continue to make the Wolverine & Punisher story a fun read. Godbrey & Kang offer up some more coolness in Iron Man 2020. Meanwhile, Hickman & Pitarra... Additionally, a baby version of Power Pack teams up with the Hulk and Hawkeye becomes the herald of Galactus. It's all fun and games until your planet gets eaten, or someone has to change a diaper.  

Holy crap! I'm so far behind that I've got the next issue of many of these. Unfortunately, that can color my opinion of an issue. Then again, whatever. MARVEL Dark Avengers #2 - Bendis & Deodato...X-Files story is a bit of a disappointment. I was hoping for more from Marv, but what was delivered was a fairly mediocre story that wouldn't stand up to most of the television series episodes.
