weirdly, I adore our weekly office meetings, because our studio is increasingly getting nothing but interesting projects, and they all come up to be claimed at the meetings. But it's a mixed blessing,...goes by, the thought of leaving the Wonder That Is My Job to work at a bog-standard firm becomes more and more incomprehensible. 8 AM. 5 PM. Amazing day. Today was so very communal and "Amish barn raising." We are all talking about teaming up to dry in all our houses because it just went so very quickly and smoothly...him. tomorrow: siding, roofing, subcontracting electrical and mechanical, and if I'm very lucky our windows will have come in. WOOT. and now to fall over. and, perhaps, drink a margarita on the way

Next week we begin our Blitz Build, when we will experimentally gather together all the volunteer...cry from relief. ***** On the down side, Biloxi picked this weekend to have their amazing seafood festival on the town green, complete with a Gumbo Championship Competition, and I will miss it. we spent this past week in the office learning ArcGIS, a mapping program where you can attach databases of information to a spatial reference and view them overlayed. This means, given the surveys Christine...between those two, I'll be able to convey a good deal of just how much damage there still is down here, with pretty much no official or governmental backing. ...but, that rant is for another day

I love that I have a job that allows me to design small, efficient, simple houses (one might call them "cottages" even) with vernacularly-appropriate details such as wide porches and tall ceilings and...elevational proportion and rhythm.
