Diwali Part One

Since we were all bored out of our brain, J suggested we go geocaching. It's something like a glorified treasure/scavenger hunt really, using GPS. Went to some nice places.. some selections... Admiralty Park Upper Seletar Reservoir   Japanese Cemetary Park              Powered by ...

Tuesday's Child is full of geocaches II

Except for the all-day rain, this Tuesday turned out to be much like the last Tuesday. A power failure early this morning reset my alarm clock so I woke up late. No problem. I just took half a day...cannot take more than 1GB of RAM, which is a problem because I already use a bit more than 1GB on my ThinkPad. No hurry though. I can wait for more mini-notebooks to show up in stores before deciding

On tupperware, trains, respect, photography and celebrity cannibalism

...along with a few pictures. On Saturday, I went out with the kiddies. Abby's muse is upon her so I left her at home to do some writing, and ventured out into the wilds of Epping Forest to do some geocaching. We started off going to Wanstead and taking a walk to Eagle Pond, which was very nice, and then took a walk to a nearby cache that was a fairly easy find. I wanted to do some more in the general...

Long Island

I opted out of a mascot gig at Bergen Community College in Paramus on Sunday because I found out that the restroom was going to be our changing room. That is not pleasant, to say the least. So instead... PCD-27: Weeks Pond (New York) Boxcar-Hobo-2 (TB Trader) (New York) SAKI-3K Days Gone By (New York) Chronicles of Narnia - Reepicheep (New York) Chronicles of Narnia - Tirian (New York)

Muggles!

...to find the 56 caches within 5 miles of our house by the end of next May.  We also want to complete the GU Tempe we started last spring.  We've only got 2 more caches to find to complete it. I love geocaching.  It lets us get out and enjoy the desert while being on a scavenger hunt.  I've realized my favorite activities all include searching for stuff.  Geocaching, genealogy, true crime, history...

Mid-Hudson Picnic

This morning, I went to the 2008 Mid-Hudson Picnic geocaching event at Bowdoin Park in Wappingers Falls. I didn't expect much because it was a rainy day but this turned out to be a nice laid-back event. We also did a bunch of geocaches in the park. I went with Mark B. for this hike, although we crossed paths with other groups along the way. At one point, we heard a tree break off and fall in the...

replacement

Woo hoo!  I've gotten a new (to me) PDA so I can resume my geocachingYahoo!   I've been doing relatively little caching since the beginning of the year when my other PDA died.  Where to start, where to start.

Returning from FurFright and Summary

Convention was over and done. Early Monday morning, I did my fastest repack thus far. I hope this doesn't mean I left something behind in the room. Checked out and said my goodbyes to a few friends... I thought there would be more pizza than that because of donations collected during the con. However, that's no biggie. I already had enough food and snacks that day, so I didn't really need a slice

"Morbo will store it in his sac for later digestion"

I'm busily amassing the European APS film mountain at the moment. Ten rolls of Kodak 200 arrived yesterday, bought for a song on eBay, and I also have the black and white and Fuji 100 on their way from...was more comfortable than the Virgin Trains First Class lounge at Euston! Respect to the station staff who protect it from damage by oiks. It must be quite a challenge. More to follow later, anyway

FurFright 2008 Days 2 and 3

Saturday: Quick breakfast at Dunkin Donuts. Then I went to masquerade rehearsal. I had a small part in magnusdiridian 's skit, "The Tell-Tale Fursuit". As you might've guessed, it's based... We went around the lobby and atrium, and then back to the party. This time, I stayed until the last dance at midnight. And thus ended another great 3-day Halloween party. Hope to be back next year
