So I just looked at my Netflix account, and found a couple 'notes' that were new to me.  In other words, I didn't get any email notification of them.  If I've given you the impression that I'm a stuck...have seen it: The thing the Amish guy does?  Hilarious. I won't be doing a Hallowe'en horror movie round-up this year, but if you missed last year's, BBT is back on the air, and here it is .

Martin Written and directed by George A. Romero 1977 George A. Romero is one of those filmmakers who have been simultaneously blessed and cursed by creating a film so ingrained in popular culture...attacks and their highly romanticized fantasy counterparts are pretty amazing. For anyone interested in checking out Romero's filmography beyond the Dead films, Martin is a great place to start

I want to thank everyone who made a comment on my last entry. It helped a lot. I'm actually feeling a lot better today. I didn't have to go to class so I decided to stay home and relax. I think I've...dumped liquid on him. A part of me hopes it was because John gave him a swirly in the bathroom before he was interviewed. I mean couldn't they have let him change shirts before being on camera?

Today is the 40th anniversary of the premiere of the horror film classic Night of the Living Dead . At 8pm (EST) tonight it will be exactly 40 years since the movie had its premiere at the Fulton Theater...up the graveyard horribly in 1985). It is possible for a fan to walk in the footsteps of Barbra, Johnny and the first zombie while visiting there. Pay your respects at Evans City Cemetery . -Tom

i wrote an essay comparing the patriarchal biases of the films "Forbidden Planet" and "Dr. Strangelove." it was kinda fun. today, i went to the nyu library again. i'm mad because it seems like half...(although i found the old art style rather endearing by that point). also: shout out to delia sherman. she is the shiznets. i think terri windling may share shiznet status with her. they are cool

I just saw Diary of the Dead and it was a disappointment. Don't get me wrong- this film is simply bad when compared to Romero's other "Dead" films. Stacked against some of the cinematic detritus featuring...have seen an old Amish dude driving a horse drawn buggy, leaning over the side and cutting off zombies' heads with a scythe on the big screen instead of in my mind's eye, I would be crying tears of joy
