i don't feel well. when the cafeteria says that the toaster is 100% gluten free...don't believe them. and i'm really sick of sad news stories. i don't know...i just am.... so yeah, watching how i met your mother now. loooove it. it's a good pick-me-up, ya know? :)

One think I keep forgetting to post about which I just remembered thanks to a friend's reply. Whey is not in any way related to wheat. I have had a lot of people warn me about foods that have whey in...who also have the misfortune of being lactose intolerant, apparently it is very common to have both.  I consider myself blessed that I do not have the latter.  My sympathies to anyone who has both

Wax paper is not as good with G/F baking as it is with traditional baking, it tends to actually stick to the baked goods. Sorry wax paper, looks like you are reduced to a strictly a craft tool. Pondering...with my research. I am doing my best to make sure that anyone who reads this can share this information with anyone they know, including themselves, who have a gluten allergy/intolerance or Celiac.

Since yesterday was Thanksgiving here in Canada, I made apple pie. Here is the recipe for gluten free pie crust that I came up with about 7 years ago. It gets rave reviews, so I hope you like it too. ...pie crust, or at least she didn't like it when we were children. I believe she only liked pie crust that you could use to pick up the piece of pie. Then she didn't have to look for a fork or a plate

Attempted to bake a white cake using a mix by a company called Gluten Free Pantry.  It came out ok, except for the center. My recommendation to anyone using this mix: Use a slightly bigger pan than suggested...and you don't have to worry about lumps. Idea: Maybe adding a bit of water to the batter might help thin it out a bit and allow it to cook more evenly.  I am open to anyone's thoughts on this

i love holiday episodes of tv shows, just in general...even of shows that i don't particularly like...i always watch the holiday episodes. here are some of my favorite halloween episodes from various tv... and angel... lucy, the daughter of the devil. sabrina the teenage witch. gilmore girls. because for some reason this is just a very fall show. wizards of waverly place.

A cute meal made for lime since he had to take a long MCP exam today (FYI it was the upgrade exam from MCDBA to MCTS in SQL Server 2005 -_-;). Today's lunch is my version of makunouchi bento . In the top tier: sweet simmered kabocha (Japanese pumpkin), steamed green and yellow wax beans, tamagoyaki, heart and star watermelon cutouts....know what size to cut the leaves. Better planning will probably help. Overall I'm pfairly satisfied with this since it's my first try at makunouchi and I've been wanting to make it for a long time. :)

This is the first week of school.  I don't think I should rate how I've been handling it because it wouldn't be so good and I need to cut myself some slack.  Well cut myself some slack in the areas that...some people but it just happens.  I guess I feel compelled to say it in order to acknowledge and think about what is going on.  I think journals are similar in that way: mapping out what is happening
