Unfortunately at the moment her work was all about him , which gave her escape into it a strange bittersweet flavor. Still she hadn't been really aware of the passage of time as she worked. The exhibit...the blank book into her bag. Blank, like when he looked at her, all of him now that the eldest had forgotten. She was still shaking when she made it out onto the street and headed toward the hotel
Martha needed a distraction. Having taken most of her free time to 'tend' to John Smith, which was to say, keep an eye on, Martha found herself fetching tea and doing other small things she hadn't done...mentioned to Lucas what the exhibit was about that she wanted to show him. That, she'd leave as a surprise. (ooc: thread with Lucas happens last. John Smith aka Ten, mentioned with permission.)
Go into the museum, look about, see what happens. Should be easy, right? Right. Daniel was staring at the exhibits in the Egyptology section, trying to figure out if anything made sense to him . It was like grasping at a wisp of wind, nothing substantial to get hold of, eternally just out of reach. He sighed and moved onto the next exhibit.
There was nothing like walking into work and finding out the place had changed. Well, not entirely. Chuck did his usual morning rounds where he walked through each exhibit while sipping on a cup of coffee...space was completely filled. He paused outside the circuler entrance, staring at the police box he could see from the hall and blinked. "..okay." (ooc: List of items in the exhibit can be found here )
Every place of employment needed time to relax and for the employees to get to know each other, even in a small place like the village of Haurvatat, which was why Chuck had decided to throw a party for...the sandwiches and the bakery supplied the desserts and there was music and beverages of all alcoholic and non-alcoholic alike. All the party needed now was the partiers. (Gathering post ahoy!)
In the amount of time Chuck spent in the village, he came to a sudden realization while walking through the museum the other day. They hadn't really had a staff meeting or a staff party. It probably had...party. Staff meetings could wait, a party could not. More importantly. Little sandwiches or a cheese platter? Maybe both. (ooc: Actual party will be sometime next week.. see oom for more details)
She had only been here two days and already this place was starting to feel cramped. It was odd with way too many Americans walking around and some of them not even human. Rikki was starting to consider...as well be responsible. She walked into the museum and up to the observatory. It seemed quiet. "Hello?" She called out. (catch her on the streets, or at the museum, or at the observatory. *g*)
Ruth was in her element. No really, she was. She was surrounded by research and she worked in the museum. When she wasn't researching languages and other things, she was indulging in the exhibits which...Museum. She really didn't want it to come alive at that moment. That fanciful thought never would have entered her mind until coming to the village. Ruth wasn't sure if she was happy or sad about that
Ever since Chrissy left, Brennan had been spending longer hours at the museum. If there wasn't work readily available for her she would search some out that would keep her occupied until late into the...hated it. Pushing back in her chair from where she was hunched over an artifact from the museum's archives, she closed her eyes and rubbed the bridge of her nose, feeling a dull ache settling in
Juliet had stayed indoors during the fiasco of children. She wasn't sure what to think when one of her own didn't show up, but she rationalized it by theorizing that just because a kid didn't show up there...and walked near the museum with an iced tea, planning on going back inside to enjoy some lighter fare; maybe the dinosaurs. ((ooc: find Juliet in the museum or outside of it - your choice!))
