I found some whole chickens complete with feet, to make chicken stock . However, I didn't realise until I was paying that they also have heads! So, what in the world do I do with the heads? I don't think I want to add them to my stock, as the brains will probably give a not-so-pleasant flavour. And there's not much meat on them.
I made minestrone and have a lot of tomato juice left over that i don't want to go to waste. anyone have some favorite recipes that would call for tomato juice? i have no idea what to do with the rest! and no, i don't want to drink it lol.
So, if you had a jar of blackberry-jalapeno jelly, what would you do with it? My dad made it with jalapenos from my mom's garden, and gave me a small jar of the stuff. It's maybe... 1/2 to 2/3 of a cup...of my dad, who likes to go into the woods and shoot things) but I don't think the answer is to just dump the stuff over cooking meat. I want to do something really cool. Does anyone have any ideas
A month ago, when I was making Christmas cookies, I bought quite a lot of M&Ms and used the red and greeen ones for decorating. I put the rest of the candy in a jar, put it in the back of the pantry and... Has anyone tried them in muffins? (Yes, I could just bring the jar to the office and let my co-workers eat them... but I know there's a creative use for M&Ms in someone's brain out there.) Thanks
Hello, cooking . I have a large container of miso in my fridge, but no kombu or anything else to make dashi. I also don't have any tofu or wakame. Basically, I can't make a traditional misoshiru until I get to the Asian supermarket. What can I do with the miso in the meantime? Any recipes or suggestions are welcome. Fish is fine, but I don't eat other meats. Thank you!
Hey y'all. I've schemed, finagled and cajoled and finally my crush is coming over for dinner under the guise of a "dinner party." I MUST IMPRESS HIM WITH MY COOKING SKILLS. What should I make? I need...tasks/burners and able to follow medium-complicated recipes. The only other requirements are no fish and no coconut. Here's hoping this gets through the queue fast enough... and thanks in advance
I am looking for your help with an unuasual leftover. I have slightly more than half a bottle of good champagne, slowly going flat in my fridge. I have drunk up a good quantity of it, but at the rate it...and it being the holidays, we are rather awash in desserts, so savory dishes would be particularly welcome. Thanks for the help! (and yes, I can hear you just crying for my predicament from here...
I received a gourmet gift basket from a client. It contains several jars of stuff I have never tried before. What can I do with this stuff? How can I eat it? Any suggestions? All ideas appreciated...) Spicy Green Beans (I know some people use them instead of celery in Caesars) Italian Style Roasted Peppers (someone suggested putting these and cream cheese in a food processor to make a dip
I just learned that my friend's father has passed away. Of course, the usual thing to do is to bring food, though I've never been in a (geographic) position to do so before. What kind of food is appropriate...keep easily**? *If so, would chicken enchiladas be appropriate? They keep & freeze & reheat really well. **I'd like to stay away from bread, as I'm making bread for my holiday baking this year.
