Dreamland

I can't tell you how much I love my boyfie! It's killing me at the moment only being able to see him on the weekends. I'm like a missile waiting to be fired now, and my life is just one big countdown till...silence myself now otherwise I could go on all night about how I'll make slug salads for our chicken babies and grow catnip for the friendly neighborhood strays.  Happy dreaming and keep smiling!

"Oh, this is folded..."

...a "Here's your sign" moment!  In Calgary this weekend past, Jerica passed Uncle Herb a newspaper that she had been reading in class.  She was showing him some of what they do at school, and he wasn't sure of the significance of it, so he asked, "What's this?"  Well, OBVIOUSLY it's a newspaper, but of course that wasn't what he was asking.  Her reply was, "Oh, THIS is folded."  It was kind of...

Shorter days and longer nights

Well, I went to the garden yesterday afternoon (didn't go in the morning b/c it was so COLD!) and it was obvious that Jack Frost had paid a visit. After talking to my farmer, he confirmed that they had...it work?, etc. Thanks for having the courage to step up and be the first sharers to join in this new concept to Portage. Together, we CAN create a safer world for us all to live in. -organicsheri :

Spinach Coconut Dahl

I made this tonight for supper...a double batch. It's a favourite in this household. I used fresh NZ spinach instead of spinach, fresh roma tomatoes, and fresh mint from the garden. Only wish I had some cilantro as well. Wouldn't it be great if we could get all this stuff locally...but I won't be holding my breath for cloves or coconut milk! Oh well. :) Delish!

Anyone can help with curation/energy?

Hello to my sisters here! I was wondering if you could help as, like every end of summer, I am getting ill and feeling so low on my energy (did I just make that expression up?). My friend Meritxell, with... Also, I'm starting work again tomorrow, so please think of me. I guess I'll need lots of energy and power to deal with the kids (I'm an English teacher). A great day full of magic to you all! Mari / Mom

don't talk, as it dances down my throat, into my lungs, as i slowly get stoned. the troubles that i felt, fly away with the smoke, after one breath drawn belt. slowly losing feeling, free, alive, but not. no thoughts, i can't grasp them. herb. note to self: you suck at writing poetry while stoned.

Keeping Track of the Garden

I planted broccoli, carrot, cauliflower, asparagus, cabbage, 2 lettuce, 2 different types of greens, and more that I can't think of right now but will add later.  I already have turnips, tomatoes, sweet...wanting to try this method for some time and decided today was a good day.  And tomorrow I get to work for a couple hours at Maggie's herbs...I can't wait. I would work there all the time if I could
